It only took 7 days in Miami to seal the deal on my full blown obsession with Art Deco. I was always a little iffy about it, the colours too pastel, the wood veneers too crummy looking, or something. But I've changed! And now I'm obsessed and have spent most of the evening ferreting out Art Deco poster art on the web prompted by the exhibit I saw at the extraordinarily hype Wolfsonian Museum today.

I think I need a coffee table book on the subject, no?

  1. Art Deco appeared as a form of escape from economic slump; perhaps we should look forward to something extraordinary appearing from our current predicament?

  2. I HOPE I HOPE!!! I hate all this greyscale, minimialist, sparse crap that's cropping up everywhere. It's like Google has taken over the design for the whole planet. BLECH.

    no. not likely. but it's nice to find common aesthetic interests... that AND i am the queen of contraband museum photos (my rule is, 'take photos until they tell you not to'. this is how i have 6 photos of original andy warhols... swwwooooooooonnnnn)
