I'm on a rampage of getting shit done. I went on an out of character binge of starting projects before finishing the last. So not my style. Seriously. My beads have been in a state of strewn for two months now. Nutso.

On the tee this week is dealing with my bucket of scrap beads. I milked two cuffs out of the heap of renegades and will destash the rest to a deserving, crafty soul.

Feels good. So very good.

Cuffs: $5-10 each, I think
Getting shit done: $0, so so so satisfying

I will take really good care of your kittehs while you're on vacation . . . . . . . iff* you pay me in really hype napkins.

Serviette house-sitting trophies: $0, thanks Walita!

*no, not a typo. Click here if you don't get it.

I needed a new bike. Not wanted, but needed. The old girl had probably four working gears, the fender lent serious friction to the back wheel, I had a flat every other week, she was too small for me and my knee was hurting. My bike is my car, my friend, my gym membership. It was a need. So I cracked and decided to buy a brand new bike. I never buy brand new anything. Ever. Seriously. I was on a mission, I found bike nerds, sourced information, got the lead on a good bike shop, and was all set to drop 50% of my monthly income on a new girl. . . then I passed a bead store and forgot all about it.

Whoops.

Bike: $0, purchase delayed
Beads: $8, so satisfying

Whoa. Long time no blog. Sorry 'bout that.

I've been busy with an unusual constellation of activities - some fun, some taxing. A little refugee from Japan arrived last week (i.e., my sister) just behind her latest care package. She had the good foresight to mail it before the country fell apart in an unprecedented, unexpected sequence of disasters.

stuff for making: $0, present from Lannie

What's even better than travelling to the hots of the Caribbean in the middle of Canadian winters?? Having friends who do and bring you presents! Awesome, indigenous beads. OMG.

Right: Walita went to the Dominican

I saw that Andrea made this cowl for Emily. So I immediately whined for her to make me one just like it and then I went out and found a vintage flower pin so that I could be just like Emily. Well that's not exactly how it went, but . . . yay! none the less.
