My domestic streak runs pretty strong in some veins, and rather anaemic in others. Sewing, knitting, decorating? Yes! Cooking, cleaning, gardening? Notsomuch.

However, my fickle soul is easily seduced - this time in the form of Matryoshka measuring cups.

Butter, eggs, brown sugar: $8, No Frills
Stealing ingredients from Dad: $0, thanks!
Matryoshka measuring cups: $0, present from Ann
Baking not-flop: $8 and less than an hour of my time, an experiment worth repeating

Tonight, I turned this:

I'm pretty sad that one of my favourite sources of beads is closing; Twice Found is this neat little pottery and vintage jewellery store on Markham that I discovered not more than a year ago! The great thing is that if you ask nicely the ladies let you dig through the heaps and heaps and bags of broken jewellery they stow in the back and sell you treasures for a song.

One of my last great hauls: $35, nine vintage necklaces, one bangle, and a beautiful Japanese potted vessel

Sometimes all I want out of life is to just live out all my weirdness. This bracelet is a step in the right direction.

Gift from someone who really gets me: $0, imported from Atlanta by Ann!

I celebrated my June 1 birthday with an absolute dear, dear friend at the 360 restaurant at the CN Tower in Toronto. I kinda bounced around and took 83 pictures and was pretty much wetyourpants excited the whole time.

To 29 years of life well worth toasting!

Beer on top of the world: $5.85, plus tax, tip and a really expensive meal
