Simplification Sunday: Week Thirty One

Well I think we can admit this blog is on its way out. Probably when I'm done my resolution I will let it go. It's been a good run, but I want to think of something new and fun to do with my digital life.

I'm off to New Brunswick (home!!!!) for a few weeks, so I'll have to catch up on simplifying upon my return.

This week I:

- gave my curling iron to my sister . . . yeah . . . I owned a curling iron. Don't ask.
- burned all my CDs to my computer. I don't listen to CDs and rely on my MP3 player. This was a good purge of stuff! Yay for digital living!

Simplification Sunday: Week Thirty

Okay. Feeling better. Feeling back on track. I had some time alone and awake at home last night and went through my linen closet (why do I own 28 pillow cases??? why, Erin, why??) and bathroom again and found even more things that I was ready to part ways with. I took this backpack full of stuff to Goodwill this morning. Gonzo! I like this. I like purging and destashing. Oh, I gave a flower pot to my friend Ali who likes to garden, too, and set aside a book that Morgain would like.

I also promised not to buy anything at Goodwill except clothing until the end of 2012. I think I can do that. I don't want anymore clutter, but my wardrobe always needs a little help.

Simplification Sunday: Week Twenty Nine

Things I'd rather be doing. Scuba diving in Iceland, anything in Iceland, anything scuba related. Anything not what I need to be doing right now. This resolution is so interesting. I'm making light years of progress in my relationship with stuff/crap/junk/things/material possessions, but at the same time, too, I'm not feeling like I have better leisure time, happier relationships, am better rested or more productive and focused. Eff.

Sigh. And all that crap.

I seem to resolve far too often to say "no", to limit my social commitments, cut back on committee work, and so on . . . it works temporarily, but man oh man I have built one hell of a hamster wheel life for myself. It's cold and quiet in the library on Sunday in July. Oumphf . . . and other onomatopoeia.

Hmmm. . . what can I do? I'll get back to you on this one . . .

Simplification Sunday: Week Twenty Eight

This week I tossed all my old craft paints. Gonzo.

Also, unrelated, I love knitting.
